Creative Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Function: Creative
Location: Northwest Arkansas
Workplace Type: Hybrid
About Us:
Imaginary Co. is a small but mighty marketing agency obsessed with creating beautiful work rooted in solid strategic thinking. We partner with brands ranging from local breweries to the MoMA. No matter the size of the brand, there’s always a story worth telling.
We collaborate with clients who are not only great partners but genuinely excellent humans. Together, we create original content, build brand identities, and strategize ways to convert shoppers. Our team is talented—that’s a given—but we’re also curious, playful, kind, and passionate about what we do.
And as a bonus, our name is easy to say and hard to forget. So when your Great Aunt Liz asks, “Where are you working these days?” you won’t have to repeat it countless times then spell it out, only for her to say she’s never heard of it anyway…
About You:
We’re looking for a Creative Director to lead our creative vision across clients and campaigns. This person will serve as both a hands-on maker and an inspiring mentor—someone who can work on a new brand identity in the morning, have a 1:1 with a junior art director at lunch, and pitch storyboard concepts to clients in the afternoon. You’ll oversee all creative output across print, digital, and experiential projects, ensuring everything we deliver is strategically smart and exceptionally designed—all while fostering a joyful culture where creativity can thrive.
If you’re someone who loves for each day to be completely different from the last, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the creative strategy and execution across all accounts and campaigns
Develop bold concepts and guide teams through brainstorming, presentation, and production
Manage, mentor, and inspire designers, writers, and freelancers
Present work confidently to clients, clearly articulating the thinking behind every creative decision
Collaborate closely with strategy, account, and production to ensure we’re not just pushing pixels, but creating something with purpose
Maintain a high bar for craft and consistency across all deliverables
Jump in and roll up your sleeves when needed—whether it’s concepting, writing, or art directing
Bonus Points If You Can:
Order everyone’s favorite dessert on their birthday
Set up monthly happy hours on Friday afternoons
Plan a yearly “all-hands” week, inviting all freelancers and full-timers to gather and set the vision for the coming year
Take time off each quarter to unplug and encourage direct reports to do the same
If this role feels like a good fit for you, we would love to hear from you. The interview process is actually a progressive dinner, followed by dessert and drinks with the entire team. You will be interviewing with a Golden Retriever puppy in your lap. No one will try to intimidate you for the sake of it—this will instead feel as if you’ve finally found “your people”.
And did we mention we won’t make you do timesheets?
